Tantra PhotoTherapy techniques are therapy practices that use people’s personal snapshots, family albums, and pictures taken by others (and the feelings, thoughts, memories, and beliefs these photos evoke) as catalysts to deepen insight and enhance communication during their therapy or counselling sessions (conducted by trained mental health professionals), in ways not possible using words alone.

Photography is a way to touch, to feel, to love...
Photography means in Greek “writing with light”.
PhotoTherapy originates from 1848,
when Hugh Welch Diamond (psychiatrist and photographer) started to use photography,
in order to document the facial expressions of patients,
believing that capturing a person’s appearance reveals their essence.
Why is Tantra PhotoTherapy useful?
If we are not allowed to express ourselves as children or as adults,
when we are constantly being denied and told “no”, when we miss love, care, security,
when we experience disappointment, offense, anger, fear, guilt, shame,
we experience physical or emotional trauma, our body shuts down.
Stress and trauma are stored in the body, and we carry them around year after year.
PhotoTherapy helps to release emotions stored in the body in a playful and creative way.

How to prepare for the session?
PhotoTherapy is a part of life celebrating.
Put on or bring comfortable clothes that you feel good wearing.
If you wish, bring 2-3 sets of clothes, some jewelry, shoes, accessories, etc.
When you come to the session, take your time and enjoy it the most…
Enjoy being yourself, enjoy opening yourself up, enjoy cocreating with the therapist,
enjoy the lights, the colors, the smells, the textures, and the atmosphere.
About the session
We will start the session by getting to know each other.
You can share your wishes, needs, and expectations for the session.
According to your wishes/needs, chatting can be followed by meditation or breathing in the couple.
You can change your clothes if you want.
The session starts.
After the session, we may look at the photos and discuss them.
You will recieve all the photographs of a good quality within 48 hours after the session.
Your session is uniquely made for you to offer you a deeply liberating experience.
Your boundaries will be respected and honored at all times.

Sessions can be extended by 30 minutes
It is recommended to eat light food two hours before the start of the session.
Avoid eating heavy food (meat, fish, etc.), drinking coffee, stimulating drinks, and alcohol.
